Master Conservationist 2024
Ian and Elaine Thomas were presented the 2024 Master Conservationist Award at Mercer County Ag Field Day September 12th, 2024. He has installed 1 HIGH Tunnel, 0.7 acres conservation cover crop, 620 ft. pipeline, 1 water-tank, 66 acres pasture seeding, 4,000 sq. ft. HUA, 1,062.0 acres cover crops, 321 acres nutrient management, 2 grassed waterways, 7 acres brush management, 680 acres cover crops, 1,200 ft. pipeline, 3 water-tanks, 5,800 ft. fence, 108 acres prescribed grazing through the federal program EQIP., & 2 concrete HUA’s in the State Cost-share Program.
Master Conservationist 2023
Vice Chairman (Left), presents Zack Ison (Right) with the 2023 Master Conservationist Award at the Mercer County Ag Field Day on August 8th, 2023. The award was provided by the Mercer County Conservation District. He was chosen for his various conservation practices that he has implemented. He has installed 6 water-tanks, 5,820 ft. pipeline, 3,800 ft. of fence, 22 acres of seeding, 321 acres pre-scribed grazing & 1 CNMP through the federal program EQIP. A stack pad, 50 acres pasture renovation, HUA, 3 water tanks & 6,200 ft. pipeline, and 3,900 ft. of fence in State Cost Share. In the CAIP Program, Zack has purchased heifers, bale accumulator, gates, scales, creep feeder, hay tedder, grain bin, installed a hoop barn and boundary fencing.
